Unlike traditional venture and private equity models, which are often transactional and short-term focused, Generocity builds meaningful, long-term relationships with a community of members and partners to address pressing, complex challenges. By creating the conditions for creative collaborations to address the most essential needs facing people and the planet, Generocity fosters healing, regeneration, and the acceleration of well-being for all.
The origins of Generocity
Social venture entrepreneur David Levy became the steward of Mayacamas Ranch in the mountains above Calistoga, California in 2006. Over the following decade the Ranch emerged as Northern California’s premier group wellness destination for retreats, summits and workshops — a center for reflection and renewal, grounded in the beauty of land considered sacred for millennia by Native Americans. The Tubbs fire of 2017 brought tragic devastation to Mayacamas Ranch, its patrons, and stewards alike.
Now in 2021, in the spirit of optimism and resilience, David has partnered with sustainability incubation pioneer Harold Glasser to rebirth the Mayacamas experience as Generocity — an accelerator of transformative change.
The WIA model
The Generocity process is centered around the Well-being Innovation Accelerator (WIA) model, developed by Harold Glasser. WIAs harness the full power of humanity through a crowd-sourced, prize-driven process for identifying the most promising solutions and then fully supporting their incubation.
1. Identify
Form diverse teams of purpose-driven innovators, social entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and impact investors — and host world-class workshops and conferences to identify and explore grand and knotty challenges around advancing sustainable well-being for all.
2. Innovate
Cast a broad and open net by creating prestigious prizes to identify high-potential social and technical innovations, expose them to brutal, but constructively critical critique and testing — and then rapidly prototype the most promising solutions to evaluate proof of concept.
3. Incubate
Collaborate to provide the richest, most fertile environment to nurture the best innovations into successful, launch-ready initiatives by providing seed capital, design, legal, leadership, communications, marketing, research, and other necessary support.
4. Accelerate
Assemble the required expansion capital and leadership and management teams to bring the incubated initiatives to scale. Amplify their reach and collective impact to advance sustainable well-being for all. Upon success, embed flow to vitalize and grow the Generocity ecosystem.

Generocity Exchange™
A place for mindful reciprocity. It’s where we meet people where they are to facilitate the sharing of resources — ideas, communities, products, services, assets, experiences, training, workshops, coaching, storytelling, and all forms of unused capacity — to advance well-being for all.
The Generocity Exchange website will serve as the dynamic hub at the center of the Generocity ecosystem, a smart agreement exchange system marketplace, where all forms of capital are valued and rewarded. A social resolution system, which develops unique currencies in addition to traditional financial valuation and reward systems, the Generocity Exchange facilitates convening, collaboration, learning, study, and play.
Centers for Generocity™
Inspiring places, imbued with the regenerative force of nature, which serve as places of learning, practice, and purpose.
Centers for Generocity combine the activities of a family office, think tank, and retreat center with leadership and life training, and all the necessary support services — enticing workspaces permeated with the wild and restorative energy of nature, creative and communications services, curated experiences, educational opportunities, and hospitality.
The hilltop at Mayacamas Sanctuary will be the inaugural Center for Generocity.
Sanctuary Home Office™ Network
Sanctuary Home Offices (SHOs) are where the teaching, learning, and practice of the Centers for Generocity are brought home to daily lives and community collaborations. Opening our homes and properties to the gift of purpose enables us to diversify and democratize Generocity.
By supporting everyday health and wellness, relaxation, contemplation, and difficult conversations alike, SHOs will help the Generocity community to discover how to act together in service of people and the planet.
